Performance at the US Embassy annouced

December 10, 2008 • US Embassy, Conakry

Kulu Mele  will perform Yankadi, a dance of the Susu & Temne people. Performed at the light of the full moon, traditionally a wedding / courtship dance of flirtation and smooth movements . Macuru is the second rhythm that always performed with Yankadi.

Visas!

Yesterday I traveled to Manhattan NY with AMA (Stephanie Young ) our costume designer, who got funded from Leeway to travel with us to Guinea. I met with M’Bemba Bangoura at the Guinea Embassy. We found out, that for an extra fee, we could get the visas the same day. M’bemba, Ama and myself drove up to Harlem and had a wonderful lunch at a Senegalese restaurant. We talked about our plans in Guinea, until the visas were ready.
