Originally on view at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia in the spring of 2015, the Graham Foundation now presents Barbara Kasten: Stages—the first major survey of the work of artist Barbara Kasten—in partnership with the 2015 Chicago Architecture Biennial.

Supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, Barbara Kasten: Stages was organized in conversation with the artist and with full access to her extensive archive. Widely recognized for her photographs, since the 1970s Kasten has developed her expansive practice through the lens of many different disciplines, including sculpture, painting, theater, textile, and installation. Spanning her nearly five-decade engagement with abstraction, light, and architectonic form, this exhibition situates Kasten's practice within current conversations around sculpture and photography.

Barbara Kasten: Stages has culminated in a full-color catalogue from JRP|Ringier, in collaboration with the ICA.
