New Paradise Laboratories (NPL) presents the world premiere of Hello Blackout!, a devised theater work created by NPL artistic director and Pew Fellow Whit MacLaughlin and composer and Pew Fellow Bhob Rainey. Part horror, part philosophical investigation, Hello Blackout centers on anomalous triplets who live in a derelict mansion made of numbers, far from those who lead conventional, non-mathematical lives. Under the watchful eye of "Moth," the siblings communicate in a private language comprised of body sounds and semaphore. The premiere of Hello Blackout! will feature a live quintet performing Rainey’s computer-generated score, and debut during the 2017 FringeArts Festival.
