Bryn Mawr College presents a retrospective of selected dances by Trisha Brown, an internationally known leader of post-modernism and an enduring renegade whose work has rarely been seen in Philadelphia. These will be among the Trisha Brown Dance Company’s final touring performances of Brown’s proscenium works.
Funded by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, In the New Body charts three stages of Brown’s prolific career, beginning with a performance at the Barnes Foundation and continuing with performances at Bryn Mawr College and the Pennsylvania Ballet—the Ballet will present Brown’s O Zlozony/O Composite (2004), becoming the first United States ballet company to perform her choreography.
