The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage

Pew Fellows

Every year since 1992, the Pew Fellowships in the Arts has awarded fellowships to artists of exemplary talent in the five-county Philadelphia area. This year's recipients, four of whom are first-time applicants to the program, include an elegant and commanding dancer who fuses European, African, and Caribbean influences in her choreography; an architect whose designs couple concerns about environmental cost and sustainability; and a poet whose unique form of writing invites readers to participate in the deeply embodied experiences portrayed in his poems. These are just three of the 2011 Pew Fellows, a group of 12 gifted artists who reflect PFA's commitment to supporting the most vibrant and innovative artists in the Philadelphia region.
