Program Goals
The Philadelphia Music Project’s primary goal is to cultivate an artistically dynamic environment for music in the Philadelphia area by:
Supporting adventurous programming
The Philadelphia Music Project encourages adventurous programming in all musical styles and forms by supporting projects that challenge the bounds of traditional musical and curatorial practice.
Fostering musical excellence
PMP supports organizations in projects that engage exceptionally talented instrumentalists, vocalists, composers, and conductors. PMP encourages collaborations that not only bring the best regional musicians together, but also bring the best national and international musicians into our area for outstanding performances and partnerships.
Strengthening the creative capacity of music organizations
Through symposia, seminars, workshops, consulting services, professional development grants, and other initiatives, PMP helps organizations search for realistic and productive ways to raise their overall artistic quality and capacity.
