The Curtis Institute of Music was awarded $100,000 for a production of Leoš Janacek’s opera The Cunning Little Vixen, sung in the original Czech. Three performances, presented in collaboration with the Opera Company of Philadelphia and the Kimmel Center, will feature Curtis students in key roles: baritone Elliot Madore as the Forrester, and soprano Elizabeth Reiter as the Vixen. Opera Company Music Director Corrado Rovaris will conduct the Curtis Symphony Orchestra. Emma Griffin will direct, with Mark Barton and David Zinn designing lights and sets. The Rebecca Davis Dance Company will also perform in the production.
