The Painted Bride Art Center was awarded $60,000 for the Philadelphia debut of the Dave Holland Big Band in a program featuring new works by the eponymous bassist and composer. Holland will also participate in a residency program, coaching the big band at the High School for Creative and Performing Arts, and will be interviewed by ethnomusicologist Dr. Guthrie Ramsey (University of Pennsylvania) and WRTI radio host J. Michael Harrison for broadcast on Harrison’s popular Friday night program The Bridge.
