Erin Carlson Mast is CEO and executive director of President Lincoln’s Cottage in Washington, DC. She was a member of the original team that opened the Cottage in 2008, and became director in 2010. In this capacity, she has also overseen the development of the “Lincoln’s Toughest Decisions” program, which won the 2008 American Alliance of Museums Media & Technology MUSE Award, and several online interpretive programs, including “Lincoln’s Commute,” a collaboration with the White House Historical Association. Mast has written for national publications including History News and The Public Historian, and was a contributing author to Museums of Ideas: Commitment and Conflict (MuseumsEtc, 2011). She holds an MA in museum studies from George Washington University and a BA in history from Ohio University. In 2017, Mast served as a panelist in Exhibitions & Public Interpretation and an LOI panelist in Performance and Exhibitions & Public Interpretation.
