Michelangelo Pistoletto: From One to Many, 1956–1974 opens on Tuesday at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This PEI-funded project will be the first survey of Pistoletto’s art in the U.S. in over two decades. The museum will create its own version of Cittadellarte, a center for the study and promotion of creative activity Pistoletto founded in his hometown of Biella, Italy, in 1998.

In 1967, Pistoletto rolled a giant ball of newspapers through the streets of Turin. Tomorrow, Pistoletto will roll a replica of the newspaper sphere made by Spiral Q Puppet Theater out of the museum and onto the streets of Philadelphia. Join them for a walk through the museum’s adjoining neighborhoods and along major streets with a few special stops along the way. Walking Sculpture will depart from the West Entrance at 1:30 p.m.—rain or shine!
