PTI Funded Project Wins 2010 OBIE Award

Congratulations to Steven Dufala and Billy Blaise Dufala on winning an OBIE Award for their work on Machines Machines Machines Machines Machines Machines Machines. Independent Artist Geoff Sobelle received a PTI grant in 2006 to develop and produce this three-man absurdist play that marries kinetic junk sculpture and performance art in a satire of technology, American paranoia, and global warming. The Dufala brothers’ OBIE was for machine design, or what The Village Voice called “gleefully inefficient contraptions.” After a production in Philadelphia in 2007, Machines Machines Machines Machines Machines Machines Machines appeared at New York’s Here Arts Center in June 2009 and starred Sobelle, Trey Lyford, and Quinn Bauriedel. The 55th Annual Village Voice OBIE Awards were presented on Monday, May 17, 2010, at a ceremony held at Webster Hall in Manhattan.
