Asian Arts Initiative utilized Center support in order to prepare to run a multi-tenant arts facility. Since its founding, Asian Arts has striven to effect positive social change in the Philadelphia area through community and artistic programming that encourages artists, develops cross-cultural understanding, and explores the diversity of the Asian-American experience. In its new space, Asian Arts has its own offices and program space, but also houses individual artist studios, office spaces for peer organizations, and shared spaces for rehearsals, meetings, and exhibitions. This grant allowed Asian Arts to work with consultants Denham Wolf in managing this process and rendering its facility into a space that fosters continued community engagement and artistic growth. This plan led to a subsequent Center Project Grant in 2011. 1
